New England Style IPA double dry hopped with Citra and Loral. Hazy, cloudy and smooth with great mouthfeel. Bursting with fresh flavors of tropical fruit and citrus.

Modest head, about half a finger with a little below retention, lacing forms a nice initial sheet. While the liquid has the standard fruit puree look there’s a pleasing brightness to it. Nose starts out floral but then turns to cracker, lemongrass, to me more tarry than herbaceous/dank, guileless apricot, melon, mango fruit scents ripe without bombast, overall becomes slightly muted after the initial burst when the can popped open. Medium-bodied, round but firm, manages to avoid excessive dryness. Carbonation more muscular at first before adding a nice prickle at the end. The lemon citrus element sweet like lemondrop candy. Here too the fruit is melon loaded with apricot, peach in reserve, not tropical to me. Almost graham cracker rather than table cracker. Good balance, not especially refreshing but rates high in the drinkability category. In the end won me over. (No canning date)

Reviewed on its release day; a pint on draught at the brewery. It pours a hazy, honey-orange color with minimal head but some soapy lacing. It's super fruity and fragrant; I could smell it the moment the glass was handed to me. It smells of tangerine, lemon, honeydew, onion, and lite floral hops. The taste opens with a burst of orange/tangerine and melon, with hints of tart lemon and grapefruit. It mid-palate there are grassy, herbal, slightly spicy notes that I assume come from the Loral hops. The Citra hops really shine; it's highly fruity but without much bitterness. This ale is medium-bodied with a pleasant level of carbonation, and it's a very easy drinker at 6.3% ABV. I finished the pint very quickly. Overall, I think Robot Insurance is the best NEIPA yet for Two Ton. While it lacks the complexity of, say, King Sue or Julius, it is very tasty and fun to drink. Two Ton should can it during the summer months; it would be great to drink on the beach.
