In Italian, Tiramisu means “pick me up.” Inspired by the coffee flavored Italian dessert, this rich, full bodied stout is guaranteed to do just that.

Tiramisu is a favorite dessert of mine so I tried this one eagerly hoping for them to have worked some brewing magic and capture those flavors.
The appearance was good; stout black with a very light brown head.
The taste was not so much tiramisu as it is a coffee stout with cacao and, for lack of a better description, cola. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't tiramisu.
The feel is soft and viscous, appropriate for the style and one of the things that they nailed.
OA, I scored it higher than I reviewed it as by now I should know better than to expect exactly what they claim the beer to be. Live and learn. If it were not named for the dessert, I likely would have reviewed it better, but there we are.

16oz can at Kirby House in Douglas. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It left sticky rings of lace on the glass. It smelled of coffee, chocolate, toffee and caramel. Good roasted coffee taste with sweet milk chocolate, toffee and toasted caramel.

I poured a 12oz. can into a pint glass. A 2 inch head quickly rose, settling into a thin, lace producing foam. The beer is dark, almost black brown, with zero light penetrating at any angle. The nose is pleasant, with chocolate more prominent than coffee and hops, which are also present. The taste was a surprise.. I was expecting something truly sweet, like a tiramisu dessert. Instead, it was chocolatey, but the coffee, hops and grains rose front and center, balancing the chocolate nicely, and leaving a mild sweetness on the aftertaste. The mouthfeel was lovely.. washing over the tongue assertively, a welcome full-bodied slight stickiness, that announces itself joyfully. I enjoyed this beer more than expected, will revisit again!

Chilled can poured into a snifter. Can reads” enjoy from the can”
Super fizzy foam explodes from the can three finger taupe foam cap, quickly settles down a to a pencil thick layer over a deep dark cola brown liquid
Aroma is coffee, roasted malts , whiff of spice, cinnamon
Taste is Roast coffee, roast malts, i dont get any tiramisu sweetness or flavor
Roast coffee bitterness on the initial sip but quickly fades, the coffee taste lingers, light mouthfeel , semi dry finish
Nice beer

Deep dark Viscous looking Stout with about a quarter inch of foam that scarily settles to nothing. Small is slight coffee vanilla doesn't really smell too pungent or terrible. Flavor is Max roast smoke tasting of ashtray not really too sweet but not really pungent either leading to some mild dark chocolate in the finish. Where is the sweetness? When I read that this was a tiramisu Stout I expected more vanilla or at least more chocolate flavor. Body is light but flavor is basically just smokey Ash and some mild dark chocolate. Overall the more I sip this beer the more I am disappointed. I can't believe they continue to can this beer in this situation...

Two weeks ago you found out your wife of 25 years has been cheating on you. Your performance at work has declined, as you no longer have any vigor for life but rather drag yourself out of bed and throw on the same shirt and tie you've been wearing for 2 weeks now. Your boss enters your pathetic little cubicle, one that has been in disarray for the past 10 years (you aren't the organized type), to break the news that they are firing you. Numb, you grab your briefcase and leave behind the heaps of paperwork and your favorite bobble-head (da vinci holding up the Mona Lisa). You stop by the liquor store. Sick of the disappointments of life, you stand in the store reading reviews on Beeradvocate for 30 minutes before selecting the perfect stout. Against your better judgment you trust the can, you can't be bothered to reach for a glass right now, anyways. You crack it open and take a sip. There it is: the icing on the cake...the cake being dry and tasteless, and the icing being that whipped cream icing that belongs in hell alongside this beer. You finish the four pack only because it's 7% ABV and thankfully lose consciousness shortly after...

I read some good reviews on this stout and decided to give it a try. The taste of this stout is not good whatsoever in the slightest, it tastes like decaying ladybugs in the bottom of a used ashtray in a 1972 strip club. You may see this review as a joke but that is the best way I can describe it.

Can to snifter, the appearance was a pure dark brown close to black color with a thin cap of eggshell white to off tan foamy yet having an ever so slight yet noticeable small bubbly head. Just a wispy little bit of concave lace.
The aroma had a thorough dark earthy coffee beany character up front reminding me of an Italian dark roasted coffee k-cup. But subtle traces of sweet cream, milk chocolate, brown sugar, dark toast, cocoa powder and nibs stealthily run in and around themselves.
The flavor leaned towards the roastiness but casually developed a keen earthy sweetness - that Italian dark roasted coffee k-cup character, yup, it's fully there. Dry earthy aftertaste of dark chocolate, dark toast, sweet cream and woodiness.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Good carbonation with enough dryness all around. Finishes with earthy crisp dark chocolate wafery/toast and clenched woodiness.
Overall, I don't know what else to say for my last beer for a while. Hard to say, other than this was quite good and reminiscent of Italian roasted coffee but didn't remind me of the actual taste of the dessert Tiramisu.

Look: Very dark chocolate brown. Half a finger of thick tan head with poor retention.
Smell: Sweet roasted coffee malt with solid citrus hop backing.
Taste: An initial taste of brown sugar quickly swept away by roast malt and hop bitterness. Limited hop flavor.
Mouthfeel: Creamy, chewy body with good carbonation.
Overall: Normally I don’t like cloying beers, but I would actually prefer this slightly sweeter to let the tiramisu flavor come out.
