I'm taking this to be the "gold" Scotch ale. Strange. Gold in colour, yet peaty (i usually associate peatyness with a darker brew,). Quite sweet at times , with a lightly salty peaty, softly bitter finish. A bit sticky and bland. Whiskey-like malt.

Hazy dull amber color. Good head at first, settles to a skim after one minute. Toffee aromas. Complex taste, some caramel and buttery diacetyl and a sense of a hoppy close. Dense and somewhat slick mouthfeel, well rounded flavors. I didn't get a lot of alcohol sense, but seemed to match the "Scotch" category very well.

Very robust with a strong, tingly hops finish. A good example of the style.
