DATE: April 8, 2022... OCCASION: a long, productive week of school ends with a GF beet I journeyed to Boonton Liquor Outlet for...cheers! GLASSWARE: Otto's pint... pours a semi-opaque, yellow-orange body that sends a steady stream to its white, single-fingered smear of head... its lacing is uneven, forming deciduous trees around the glass... orange, lemon, dank resin, grapefruit and candied sugar--not much balance promised in the aroma... its medium-bodied sip doesn't linger anywhere, with a buzz at the teeth, light on the tongue, and a short-lived finish... its ABV is appropriately distributed throughout.... lemon, orange, grapefruit, and thick resin make for an impressive cocktail... its low-end is sorghum, which makes for a sweet, funky finish... as IPAs go, this is a middle-of-the-road offering... as a GF IPA, this is a welcome experience, with high citrus and resin...

12oz can in a tulip glass.
Golden yellow color with a modest white cap. Some lacing, lots of bubbles.
The rest of the review I will lump together because all of the beer's IPA attributes come up short: There's weak citrus aroma; the flavor is weak as well, some citrus hop over thin malt; body is light and it lacks hop bitterness.
So, why the middle of the road rating? Because I would not turn it down but I would not seek it out, either.

On tap at Morris Tap and Grill in Randolph. Pours a golden effervescent hue with moderate frothing. Mellow aroma replete with hints of citrus and grapefruit. Similar overall flavor profile.

I had this on draught in a pub. It was served in a tulip glass. It pours a hazy, golden-yellow color with a thin, ecru-colored head and lacing. It's smell is faintly sweet and malty. The taste is neither truly malty nor hoppy and has a hint of citrus. It finishes quite bitter and leaves a bitter aftertaste. This ale is medium-bodied and with an ABV of 6% it's easy to drink. Unfortunately, I don't find the taste to be appealing.

Departed Soles Brewing Co. "Four My Homie"
on tap at the brewery on 1 April 2016
Notes: Gluten free. 6% ABV. Crystal clear deep gold body beneath a bright white head of froth that drops readily. Lacing is limited. Sugary in the nose with floral and fruity character (lychee, mild citrus, peaches in syrup). Nicely balanced but missing "malt". Dry lingering finish with a sweetish note and floral hops. Not bad, particularly for a gluten-free beer (which I always find a bit odd).
