How does this have so few ratings on here? Maybe it's because it's a Jersey beer competing in a tough marketplace, but I thought that more people would have given this a go. While this wasn't a bad beer, it felt more like a Lager or an IPA than an American IPA. The label was by far this brew's best attribute as the rest of it left quite a bit to be desired...
The pour to this was alright - a muted golden hue with plenty of sediment in but the accompanying head and lacing wasn't anything to behold. Only a half a ring remained to be seen around the back half of my pint glass as a few scattered sections of bubbles remained below that. Grass, stinky hops, urine, and dank earth could be found in the nose as the taste was a conglomeration of those odd aromas while coming off as a lager in terms of feel on the palate. Some bright citrus kept this from being too dank on the senses but more citrus juice could have made this a bit more enjoyable from the get-go. Never felt the hops here even though they were probably more German in origin that what I was accustomed too but the accompanying notes could have been more enjoyable to the senses.
Sure, this was nearly low enough in alcohol to be a session beer but it would have been difficult to me to enjoy another one of these after finishing this off. While not a letdown, I was hoping for more out of this as it was only worth a go-around once. Not a drain pour but a newer can with dating on the bottom of it would be preferred to see if this was really the letdown that it came across as. Worth a go once as a lawnmower or tailgate beer that felt like a dewy summer morning combined with swamp water...
