DATE: December 30, 2022... OCCASION: finishing Andor with the fam... GLASSWARE: Stoudts pint... pours a hazy, sallow lemon yellow opaque body that offers an inconsistent, off-white smear of head... what trumps its pedestrian appearance is the robust tropical crush of grapefruit, tangerine, and watermelon, mouth-watering and crazily approximating its Boat Beer step-brother... the use of GF oats and maize provide the basis for a lack of balance without upsetting the impact of its aroma.... big and juicy at 4.2% ABV, almost an impossibility... each sip is a puckering pleasure, tart and electric, with a teeth-stinging entry, a rugged tongue touch, and a memorable, tangy finish at the throat--the dead horse beaten, this does not behave as a beer missing its gluten!... highly crushable, its session status is not questionable... lemon, pineapple, watermelon, grapefruit and robust tropical fruits make this a brilliant show of the style... this is a holy alliance--a beer born of two great breweries with an awesome purpose... session ales seldom rank highly on my to-buy list, but this one is fierce and worth crushing...
