DATE: April 23, 2025... OCCASION: last of the four-pack, this one aged for about a year--I am hoping tapping signals a finale to winter temperatures... GLASSWARE: snifter... pours a sizzling, fizzling intensity that evaporates its head into a dark black nothingness... boozy, with grapes, rum, vanilla, cola, and peat produce a staunch, arresting aroma that encourages the next sip... each sip is full-bodied, chewable, warming, and pleasant--not an easy feat...dry and quick at the finish... cocoa, vanilla, coffee, and candied sugars build a big, drinkable profile... this is a welcome attempt from DS, as it attempts a big beer with gluten-free ingredients--also not an easy feat... hope DS will release this again...
