English-style Barley Wine that is strong and intense, but also sweet and malty, which helps disguise the ABV.

Draft tonight at the brewery... Pours a slightly hazed orange with a long lasting white head, nice lacing. The brew shows few "English" notes, but instead is a nice mix of dark toast/lesser bready and light caramel notes.... fermented out toffee with warmth.. hops are there, but only to balance.. Surprisingly no real EtOH presence, just good clean malt.. Not sure an English yeast was used on this one... If there was some continental fruitiness and a stronger English hop presence, this would be spot on... Still a good take on a style that is typically tough for U.S. brewers to nail down.
