For this beer we blended two similar, yet different, Dark Belgian styles to add depth, nuance and a more balanced acidity. Huginn & Muninn is a blend of a Whiskey barrel aged sour Quadruple and a Scotch barrel aged Belgian Dark Strong with brettanomyces, which was then finished with blackberries.

Dark ruby pour at the brewery in Garden City, ID, faint off-khaki head leaves minimal lacing; very tasty Belgian here, lot going on; berry tartness; lots of smooth barrel character; malty sweetness; caramel; smooth body accentuated with a light sourness; some figgy dark fruits, plum, blackberry; faint booze. Just a really nice, barrel-aged and slightly soured Belgian Quad.
