not exactly a berliner, but no category still here for kettle sour, which makes no sense, so close enough i guess this will have to be. its a cool beer, super drinkable and clean, not too sour, and done up with fresh lime juice and ginger puree, clear and golden, nice looking, highly refined for a sour type like this, and with a good inch of white head on it from the tap. aroma is super ginger driven, way in front of the lime for me, and very natural, spicy and hot, not sweet and candied at all, very obvious and up front in the absence of much grain character, and thats true in the flavor too. possibly slightly over flavored, although i suspect thats what they were going for, almost as much cocktail as beer, and they got the acidity just right, its no more tangy than the cocktail itself, the lime is also very natural, and supports the beer well, makes it summery, quenching, but the spice of the ginger is real in the finish, and its a little more than i want for a whole glass worth. that said, the flavors really work great together and its cool the base beer is so light that they can be appreciated like this. i thought this was a lot of fun, these guys are making some really interesting sour beers right now! this is great for the oncoming warm weather...
