One of those strange ideas from Barbarian, but there are some nice notes here that make it work, especially that clear citrus/lemon note on the nose that reminds me a lot of a simple Earl Gray cup of tea (with lemon, of course). Earthy, floral, simple, light, mellow, and refreshing.

still no category for kettle sour here, this isnt a wild at all, but we dont have a generic sour listing yet for some reason. this is one of the coolest beers ive had in idaho so far, a tea sour ale with lavender and juniper, served on nitro, and garnished with dried rose petals, never seen anything quite like this, and its another brilliant innovation from barbarian, who seems to add a little something special to most of their beers. its gorgeous and creamy headed, like frothed egg whites on a cocktail, creamy from the nitro, hazy pale straw or rusty orange colored brew underneath, soft viscosity and pillowy looking, the rose petals make it dead sexy too, and float easily on the rich head. the aroma is great, the earl grey tea is so obvious and distinctive, with some fresh lavender in behind it and a light gin note from the juniper. pretty sour it seems, bacterial and clean, lemony, works with all the herbal character. awesome flavor too, the tea leading the way but with the others right there with it, an amazing complexion really, and even with such a simple fermentation profile and one dimensional sour aspect, the beer is really complex. fresh and bright, the sourness keeps it tasting young and new, very acidic but not broken down and made thin by it because the of the nitro feel, which is a brilliant call on this i think. some nice tea-induced bitterness at the end too, nothing is forced here either, just awesome. never had anything like this, they should be proud of it, its one of their most thoughtful and best beers so far. we loved this!
