a really righteous sour beer here done with strawberry and coconut, one of my favorite beers from these guys so far, and i am glad they bottled it, so i can share it with some homies down the road. its got a pinkish orange hue, some visible viscosity, and not much head from the tap. aroma of fresh muddles strawberries and fleshy white dried coconut come up immediately, along with a pretty clean lightly citric sourness i recognize from many of their other sours, just not so intense in this one, or if it is, it appears balanced by the sweetness of the berries. the strawberry is really natural in the flavor, but also really bold, and definitely carries some sugar with it. the coconut also is real to me, flaked and unsweetened, giving the beer a real summery, tropical, vacation sort of vibe. i love how well they go together, and that this isnt so sour it cant be consumed in high volume. the strawberry is more prominent up front, the coconut later on, its a nice transition, and if only this had a little more carbonation it would really be perfect. i think they did a really good job with this, the acidity is just right, and the strawberry and coconut are awesome. dont miss this one!
edit: this one, and some of their other recurring sours, have trended quite a bit more sour of late, last year or so a lot of these are just super sharp, and that was a limiting factor this time around for a beer i used to think i could pound on. there also is a little more barrel character than i remember, tannic oak ahead of wine or spirit, but it heavies this a bit, not incompatible but more robust than in my palate memory. still a delicious and inventive beer with ingredients that go well together, but they could stand to cut back the pucker factor a little bit...
