16oz crowler fill poured into a snifter.
A: Hazy, turkey gravy pour, completely opaque. Looks the part and seems pretty impressive for a lighter-bodied beer.
S: Nice aromas too - strong orange juice component upfront that blends into a juice medley that's pretty strongly stone fruit and apricot with notes of pineapple and other tropical fruits. Slightly green/grassy underneath.
T & MF: 4.5% abv? GTFO. This is LEGIT good for a session hazy; OJ, apricot, and pineapple all apparent in a light and somewhat watery body (there is just minimal grain backing up the palate here). Light-to-moderate bittering component from a somewhat grassy grapefruit-y finish.
O: I feel like I'm not a homer for Barbarian, some of their brews are good and others aren't, so when I say this is the best sub-5% hazy pale I've ever had, I truly believe I'm not being at all biased. This kills compared to other brews like Wowza, FlyJack, Slightly Mighty, and Daytime. The hop expression on Sun-Liner is much better than all these other beers. Also, the light body doesn't detract from the palate/feel, even though you can tell there is not much malt there. I understand that these other brews are all sub-100 calorie beers (I think?) and that's not what Barbarian is going for here, but its worth noting in a beer thats sub-5%. Overall this works very well; I'll drink this darn thing all summer long.
