Draft at the brewery. Mahogany pour, barely any head. Sour funky aroma. Taste brings in berries, sweetness eclipsed by a healthy pucker factor. Dry finish.

a blend of barrel aged sour threads with a whole mess of blueberries added, a great beer, really one of my favorite sours i have had from these guys to date, which is really saying something. im not sure this qualifies as a wild ale, but we still dont have a generic american sour category here on BA, so this seems most correct with the light funk in here and the process intensive nature of it. nice pinkish color to the beer, bright in the glass even without a lot of head. it has a clean tartness in the aroma that makes my mouth water, some tannins from the oak but also from the fruit, maybe some of this was aged in wine barrels too, it has that fruitiness along with the blueberries. this seems at least partially kettle soured, the lactic part is tidy and sharp, but there is some weird mustiness as well, really cool with all the blueberries, which are natural and just a touch sweet through this, really there is excellent balance. the base seems rather complex even with the one dimensional acidity, maybe a flanders red type blended in, i get a little malt richness and red fruitiness here, along with a light vinegar splash, some wheat seems evident too, as this has a softer body than many of the other ones they make in here. the blueberries pop the whole way through, and i even get a light vanilla note from the oak at the end. really complex and delicious, winery and unique, a highlight in their lineup right now! awesome!
