Crowler fill from the brewery poured into a globe snifter.

A: Copper-colored body, clear with minimal head.

S: Strong lemon that's moderately tart and sugary simultaneously; its an authentic lemon-y aroma (juice, skin, etc.) whose essence makes me think 'lemon spritzer' initially. Cutting through are impressions of lactose and vanilla sweetness.

T: More of the same here with very bright lemon; an almost graham cracker-y note beings to emerge along with the lactose and lots of lemon...maybe of hint of alcohol heat as well.

MF: The palate dances around more lightly than an 8% beer normally does - maybe that's a product of that lemon character 'spritzing' the beer up with its freshness.

O: The pastry stout here is sort of buried beneath layers of very bright and authentic lemon, which isn't a knock on it as much as its just stating the facts. However there are notes of sugary vanilla and graham cracker as well, you just have to dig for them. Because it is so lemon-forward, it becomes a little one-dimensional and fatiguing. 8-10oz would be perfect for me.
