16oz can from brewery. Murky brown pour, spotty beige head. Aroma is dark chocolate, sweet, raspberries. Taste comes in with over the top sweetness, candy berry flavor, light chocolate. The aroma seemed to be going in the right direction, but taste does a 180 and is just way too sweet.

16o can purchased at the brewery and poured at home into a snifter;
A: Interesting pour, looks like fruit puree buried deep within a high-abv stout; definitely thick, dark and nearly black opacity reveals a red hue throughout the brew and even within the khaki-colored head. Intriguing.
S: Tartness and sweetness; blackberry, caramel, vanilla, roasted malt.
T: More of the same, espresso-like bitterness spars with tart berry character and is carried along with a caramel/vanilla note that is start-to-finish. Earthy hopping is apparent, along with notes of cocoa and chocolate mocha.
MF: Dry, tart, thick, a bit boozy.
O: Honestly I've seen more than a few people sh*t on this version but I think it works, the blackberry is a nice tart addition to a roasty stout, and the vanilla and caramel pop through to lend some sweetness. Unique for sure.
