Nitro pour at brewery. Dark brown with a two finger creamy head. Aroma is light roasted malts, dark chocolate, sweetness. Cacao revealed a bit more in the taste, milk sugar, coffee bitterness. Light mouth coating, dry.

downright awesome imperial stout here, among the best dark beers ive had from these guys, caught me off guard, must have been an easter brew, as its done with chocolate eggs, along with sea salt and cocoa nibs, such a cool recipe! i love that its served on nitro, and its cool its not all packed with lactose and vanilla like everyone seems to think they need to do to make a modern stout. the salt is a cool touch too, as this already seems on the dry side, which is even exacerbated some by the mellowing of the nitro, and now the salt and minerals, its very fast finishing so the flavor climax really stands out as unique to me, the chocolate is earthy and natural on the nib side, bitter even, and then more rich and candied on the chocolate egg side, and both are appreciable in this, something would be missing without the nibs for sure. the malt base is awesome too, heck the whole base beer on its own is great, fuller bodied, oaty, and smooth, espresso notes in the dark roast, and minimal in a good way, super well refined, a pretty shine to it in the glass. the salt really highlights the chocolates, and every sip of this is interesting and delicious. it hides its alcohol strength scary well, and really is one of the better and more unique stouts in the area right now. wasnt sure what to think when i saw it on the menu, but i love it!

On-tap at the Garden City taproom.
A: Nitro-pour; dark brown shows light through the glass with a very creamy off khaki head.
S: Roasty notes of dry cocoa and milk chocolate. Mild dark fruitiness. Impression of oats.
T: Creamy body, bittersweet chocolate, slight salinity, minor coffee meshes with roasty malt. Mellow vanilla sweetness.
MF: Body is medium-ish and carb is spot on for nitro.
O: This is a fun adjunct stout; the nitro feel is great, but I feel there is a muting to the flavors and nose though. Tasty.
