a barrel aged golden sour base, done with locally sourced hop hash. its intensely flavored, downright striking on the first few sips, very sour, definitely over hopped, and i can see this being real polarizing, its so oily and green and acidic and intense, maybe that was the intent, but its a lot to drink, even a small globe of it. its murky and pale yellow, not much head from the tap and with a strong hop aroma, oily and west coasty and vegetal, i get some onion from the idaho 7 i think, an intense juiciness too, peach nectar and white grapefruit, no funk all acid in the ferment too, lactic and acetic, woody sure, but its not enough to mellow this at all. my homie reckons a sip almost made him hurl, i didnt dislike it like that, it has a ton of potential, but this is somewhat of a mess even if the idea is cool and the hop hash is a fun ingredient, its just way overdone. there are multiple flavor climaxes in here, and one in the middle where the hops kick in i really like, but its quickly burnt away by the sourness and then its just the green part that lingers, definitely harsh, gnarly burps, and there isnt hardly any carbonation to keep it moving. wondering if i got a pour near the bottom of the keg, seems like everything has settled into my glass specifically. im always the optimist with this stuff so i will just say that this could be awesome and hopefully will be in the future, but it needs some major refinement as it stands right now. the idea is better than the execution for now...
