not bad, good flavors here, but a little unrefined and heavy to drink, not as airy and refreshing as i like the style to be, not as pillowy feeling and easy to drink, but the flavors are right on for the most part, not overly spiced but i do get a hint of coriander, the orange is fresh and natural and hits early, and the wheat comes through the yeast esters just fine, not too warm in the ferment or anything, traditional on the ferment to me, lightly spicy and fruity, never soapy, notes of white pepper and clove, maybe anise too, cohesive and with a lot of structure, off dry, and maybe lacking a bit on carbonation, i wish this was lighter and had more life to it, a style i want to pound on most of the time, but this was a one and done for me, mostly do to weight and texture, which kind of make an otherwise good thing largely unremarkable, they can do better with this, and i expected them to. i like the nutty wheat depth this has, i like the pungent and almost essential oily orange, and i like the linger on the palate. the best of these beers for me are fluffy feeling and really airy, and this one sags in that regard. otherwise its tasty and good. tons of ups and downs here with overall quality depending on what you get, when they hit they hit so hard, but they can miss at times too, with all the flavors they do i guess its no surprise, but i expected a little more from them with this classic style...

Taster at Barbarian GC. Hazy yellow pour, ring of white head. Coriander strikes first in the aroma, oranges. Taste has the bready malts, while the savory elements sit back in support.
