crazy beer here, too flavored to drink much of, but also real tasty, is what it says it is, big stout in bourbon barrels with waffle cone mix, caramel, and vanilla, totally diabetic and overdone, but if you like the dessert beers, this one is for you! looks good, some creaky tan head on a viscous and shiny black base, leggy and deep and heavy looking, no light coming through at all. the nose is almost shocking, like smelling salts head snapping back kind of intensity, its definitely caramel and waffle cone forward, both very recognizable, maybe a bit much on both, especially the former, but its fun and distinctive and the base stout does seem nice, coffee and roast in the background, warming alcohol and vanilla, subtle oak i suppose but very little bourbon and the barrel aspect is not super prominent or consequential it doesnt seem. the flavor is so intense, its flavored beer before its beer, if that makes sense, caramel abounds, a little artificial to me almost at this intensity, certainly cloying, brown sugar and a slickness about it, a little bitterness from the dark grain rises up but balance is unattainable at this level. i do like the waffle cone thing, it tastes like waffle cones, it really does, and who doesnt love a waffle cone? the vanilla and caramel seem almost unnecessary to me, its all too much, totally palate coating, thick as jelly, and definitely a small doses thing even before the alcohol is considered. delicious but too much, great delivery of the waffle cone element, the rest of this feels like trying too hard, but still, props for the effort!
