one of the first fresh hop beers ive had this year, and its delicious and intense, almost unexpectedly good for me, the way these guys have been trending, really robust, almost seems thiol boosted or something, hop products maybe along with the fresh cones, or else they have gotten a whole lot out of this new and sexy pink varietal, cool name for this, fun beer to drink on, very distinctive and modern. on tap at bittercreek, quite haze, a little dull looking and dense as these go, nice white head on it though, and its not so heavy to drink, but certainly starchy looking and fuller colored. the aroma is striking, like i can smell it even before it gets to our table, almost candied level intensity, fruity sativa with dankness and tropical character together, white grape, lemon hard candy, papaya, mango, pixie stick, and some serious oils, its up front and intense for sure, grainy underneath, fresh to a wonderful degree, i cant stop smelling it! its awesome that the flavor of this is just as good, serious red berry, pink starburst candy, sweetened coconut, fruit punch, some grassy and even spicy notes, some subtle vegetal character but its not an issue, and this is so bold it almost seems flavored or unnatural, which i suppose is a testament to the hop quality and the overall freshness, its wild! lingering some, but only a little bit bitter, this is very well extracted and a serious showcase of this varietal, which is taking off slower than i expected for how unique it is, and beers like this do a great service to it. perhaps a little more intense than i can drink a lot of, frankly i was glad to be sharing this pint, much as i like it, i think it could be refined a tad more, but its hard to be critical of a beer that takes hops to where this one does, real unique stuff here worth seeking out!
