a really clean and delicious new zealand pale ale, done with cold press fresh hop juice apparently, which i think is new to me, its a great beer, neat that its a pale and not an ipa, and its packed with southern hemisphere hop goodness while retaining its lightness and drinkability, lovely beer for spring, this apparently its second iteration, seems exceedingly well refined, and at this point, i wouldnt change a thing. honey colored and sunny bright, nice and clear, racing carbonation, near inch of slow fading white head from the tap, awesome mix of hops in here, still some bitterness, clean and easy beer overall, nailed it! peach and apricot and fresh herbs in the nose, lush like aloe vera too, pils type malt at the core of this, lightly weedy to me, some instant light struck character as i take it from the bar immediately to the patio into the sun, even for a second it hits, my bad, but so fresh still too, which is particularly impressive, kiwi fruit, green melon, lemon, tidy ferment for sure too, tight and vibrant. the flavor is popping with green turf, fresh pineapple, green apple, ripe peach, some oils holding the flavor climax on the tongue, very bright but also with some second half bitterness slowly accelerating, dry and quick to drink and with very high carbonation, just right on the mouthfeel. nuances of white grapefruit flesh, herbal gin, and fresh cut flowers, amazing. this is wonderful pale ale, among the best locally made for sure, the combination of hops is choice and the execution is masterful. great beer, would be curious to try more stuff with fresh hop juice, seems to have added to the perceived freshness and intensity, be complimentary with the other new zealand varietals, and make this real distinct, into it!
