355ml can - just a double dry hopped dose of Simcoe hops this time around, boyos!
This beer pours a hazy, pale golden straw colour, with one measly finger of weakly puffy, loosely foamy, and bubbly dirty white head, which leaves a bit of mitochondrial lace around the glass as it quickly blows off.
It smells of gritty and grainy pale malt, some muddled pome fruitiness, a bit of lactic sourness, and some plain earthy, grassy, and floral hoppiness. The taste is lightly soured grain, further untainted cereal notes, still hard to parse apple, pear, and generic citrus fruity notes, recently spoiled milk, and more understated leafy, weedy, and floral hoppiness.
The carbonation is average in its palate-buoying frothiness, the body a decent medium weight, and mostly smooth, I suppose, as nothing really exists here that might cause any sort of problem, as such. It finishes trending dry, the crackery nature of the malt showing some lingering moxie.
Overall - this one seems to lag a fair bit in terms of its predecessors, as the single (ok, ok, double) Simcoe hop schedule doesn't really resonate with my tastebuds. Not bad, but not something that I would wish to return to - kind of a shame for their big 10th version, IMHO.
