12 ounce can - "Cellared Since: Nov 21, 2018".
Pours a solid black with half finger of tight bubbly mocha head.
Aroma of bready caramel malt, cocoa, vanilla, oak aged bourbon - hints of coffee and a bit of earthy character.
Taste follows with sweet bready caramel malt, toffee, sweetened coffee, chocolate and vanilla and a nice boozy bourbon hit - soft earthy bitterness that does not overpower the malt sweetness.
Smooth and rich full mouthfeel but not thick or viscous - warming bourbon finish - delightful sipper.

Poured from a can at fridge temp. Pours a super dark brown with nice light brown head that sticks around for a while. Nose is incredibly inviting and aromatic! Super huge notes of figs, toffee, candy, vanilla. Taste is one of the best I have head. Wow! Blown away big time. To me, this tastes a bit more like a barrel-aged English barleywine. Candy, cherries, raisins, figs, nuts, charred wood, and big notes of caramel. The bourbon comes through really nicely. There is a bit of alcohol bite, and the mouthfeel is nice and robust. Chewy and viscous. Man, this is a winner all around. I never would have guessed a beer like this would come out of Lacombe.

Pours very dark brown gentle carbonation allows a fleeting 1cm head in a tulip glass. Lots of black licorice, molasses, coffee, a bit of alcohol heat but pretty balanced. Bourbon persists with a hint of licorice between sips. This is a great beer.

355ml can - aged for 205 days in, as it says, Heaven Hill Bourbon barrels.
This beer pours a solid black abyss, with the barest of amber basal edges, and two fingers of puffy, loosely foamy, and bubbly brown head, which leaves some boiling cauldron profile lace around the glass as it quickly evaporates.
It smells of lightly roasted, bready and doughy caramel malt, toffee squares, woodsy Bourbon in all its corny and vanillan goodness, bittersweet cocoa powder, cafe-au-lait, and some plain earthy, musty, and floral hops. The taste is semi-sweet, grainy and bready caramel malt, biscuity toffee, more edgy Kentucky Country whiskey, medium dark chocolate, day-old coffee grounds, nougat, and more understated leafy, musty, and dead floral hoppiness.
The carbonation is fairly laid-back in its palate-coating frothiness, the body a dense middleweight, and mostly smooth, with a wee airy creaminess combating a rising sense of boozy menace. It finishes off-dry, the malt, cocoa, and alcohol in a lingering threesome.
Overall - well, the Bourbon character is not particularly shy in this BA offering, adding another level of complexity to an already robust big--boy stout. Worth checking out, as it is actually pretty easy to put back (sez this guy now - check back in an hour or so).

L: Deep brown, not black
S: Bourbon, tons of barrel, tootsie roll, malt explosion, not roasty.
T: Deep caramel, candy corn, lots of barrel
F: Full, sweet
This reminds me more of a huge BA brown ale/barleywine like the Bruery put out. Not as roasty as I would like but a nice beer.
