1987. That's when the start of this story begins. With a barrel, held by an independent bottle called Morrison & Mackay, that was filled with single grain Scotch whisky in 1987. And then aged 30 years. And a few years ago Keg n Cork bought all the whisky out of it (yes, we got a bottle) and shipped the cask across the stormy North Atlantic. They graciously asked us to do something fun with it and we got all giddy - it was a very fun call to get. And in the words of the folks at Keg n Cork: "That said, words will only take us so far". We filled it with our Triphammer Robust Porter and let the barrel do the rest of the talking. This one will most definitely have notes from its illustrious and historic barrel. You should be able to pick out the herbal and spicy notes, balanced with oaky, vanilla sweetness.

Pours a deep black with a massive three plus fingers of dense bubbly brown head.
Aromas of vanilla, dark chocolate, some toasted malt, and caramel/burnt toffee - softer notes of the whisky barrel.
Taste follows with sweet chocolate malt, caramel, and vanilla - notes of the whisky barrel and touches of marshmallow and dark fruits.
Medium full mouthfeel - rich but not viscous - smooth and bittersweet, leaning in on the sweet, with an inescapable booziness.
