A Mexican Hot Chocolate stout collab brew with Ol' Beautiful Brewing Co.
Appearance - Pours a jet black with three fingers of frothy mocha tan head.
Smell - roasted malts, earthy and leafy hops, coffee bean, jalepeno, other spicy aromas, cocoa, and earthy yeast.
Taste - roasted malts upfront. The earthy and leafy hops, coffee bean, and cocoa come through next. The jalepeno and other spicy elements are quite mild considering the bold notes from the coffee bean and cocoa.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes smooth and creamy with the roasted malts, cocoa, and coffee bean lingering. Also, the jalepeno and other spicy notes linger mildly.
Overall - A flavourful stout that demonstrates the traditional American stout characteristics to a tee. I wish the jalepeno and other spicy notes were a bit more pronounced to give it a true Mexican hot chocolate stout taste.
