6th Anniversary Brew
Our take on the classic smoked beers of Bamburg, dialed up to Doppelbock levels of goodness. A substantial proportion of the grain utilized was traditional Beechwood smoked malt, which delivers a nose of smoked bacon and rich caramel. Carlstadt then gives way to a palate full of gentle smokiness, fresh toasted bread, nougat and dark fruits, with a refreshing and balanced finish.

Apex Predator's 6th Anniversary brew - what the world needs more of - Rauchbiers!
This pours a less than clear reddish/mahogany colour with short lived dark beige fine bubbly head.
The nose screams "I am a rauchbier" - a meaty, smoky aroma - bacon, caramel malt, and notes of wood.
The palate delivers a bready and caramel sweetness with a touch of salinity that is absorbed into a delicious woody smokiness with flavours of brown sugar cured bacon, ham - sweet and smoky.
Medium mouthfeel - I waver on the carbonation - just right or a little muted - smooth with the lingering smoky essence.
