Pelican® beer was born in the 1920s at the Pélican® Brewery in Mons-en-Barœul. This light, lively pils has inspired many French blond beers including Pelforth®. Soft, round, nicely sparkling, it offers a beautiful bitterness at the end of the mouth.

A beer to be served very cold, between 4° and 6°C, for its liveliness and thirst-quenching side.

Paris 4/4 2026. 50 cl from tap at Les Insouciants, Boulevard Saint Germain, Paris 6e.

Pours unclear murky golden orange with a small white head. Stable. Settles as a thin layer of foam stretching to cover the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.

Aroma is medium intense with a malty and a bit sugary odor mingling with a little alcohol. Sweet pale malts, banana and sugar.

Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, gently tingling texture.

Flavor is medium intense with a rather strong sweetness followed by a moderately strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish with a boozy edge. Lingers a bit. Finish is semi-dry

Sweet blonde with a boozy touch.

50 cL tap hit at La Sylene bistro in Toulouse, France.
Golden blond color with orange scrolls. Generous white foam.
A soft and fresh nose, subtly fruity with orange zest, enhanced by a hint of coriander.
Taste is rich, round and spicy with herbaceous notes of coriander.
Feel is a bit dense for the style, it has medium carbonation.
Overall, Heinekin wants its share of the craft beer market by targeting millenials with ‘discerning taste’. They developed a cartoonish marketing ploy. The result is an OK every day sud best enjoyed with friends.
