Draft pour into a shaker pint glass.
Kilted Pumpkin pours a dark copper color. The pour I had did not have much head on it. The major aromas are pumpkin and the spices associated with it- nutmeg, cinnamon, and maybe allspice. The pumpkin and spice are not completely overdone, but still more than I hoped. The Scottish ale base is not as malty as I expected, but the malt is present in the flavor. It's definitely hopped, but it doesn't come through in the smell or taste very much. The beer is highly carbonated, leaving a little sting on my tongue.
Pumpkin beers are one my least favorite styles. I loathe this time of year when every brewery decides they need to make a pumpkin ale. Kilted Pumpkin didn't change my opinions on pumpkin beers, but it is probably the best pumpkin beer I've had.
Numerical rating based on style, not my personal liking for it.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
