Reviewed from notes. Weird to me that I got to add this, but hey, okay, not worried, here's my thoughts on this one.
The appearance was a semi-dark brown color with a thin white foamy head that slid off at a moderate pace. Some lace, but not much, seemed to just speckle all about.
The aroma had some smooth caramel/toffee malts playing with some nuts, light roast, light earth, even light floral sort of quality about it and ended with a little bit of dark bread.
The flavor was mildly rounded out between all of the prior noted aromas - sweetly with a crisp sort of earthy mild blend to it all. Earthy crisp to dark bready aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was between light and medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine, somewhat low allowing a nice smoothness rolling all about. ABV felt fine, well nurtured.
Overall, nicely done English brown ale by an American brewer, makes me wanna move back to Michigan.
