with the closure of the old harbor brewery and another small operation on the island, i was informed that this is the only brewery in puerto rico with a taproom now. they keep pretty limited hours, and its not real close to anything most tourists would be getting up to, but it was well worth our trip to get here and check it out. teeny tiny little taproom partitioned off from the brew house, which is open and free to explore while you have a pint. the whole thing was really little, just a few tables and seats at the bar, but it was very comfortable, clean, and welcoming. they had maybe six beers on, an experimental ipa and passion fruit beer, as well as staple beers like their honey red and their blonde. the coffee black ipa was my favorite beer from here, and in fact from my entire vacation to the island. it was just incredible, and really deserves some attention. owner and brewery Gregory was there, and was a really enjoyable cat to chat with. he showed us around and answered all our questions, and really seems to have learned the ropes. he was funny and kind, as was his staff. good mix of locals and out of towners hanging out in here, and the pints went down real easy. its clearly still in the early stages, but i am excited about the innovation of the beer coming out of this place, and people this awesome usually do well. i expect big things in the future, and if you get tired of the medalla light, go out of your way to check this place out. really pretty darn awesome experience!
