Got this from Emma and Terry. Cheers!
From a 500ml bottle into a snifter
ABV: 11.2%
APPEARANCE: Black pour yields a two finger, medium looking, creamy tan head with excellent retention. Black body with no carbonation evident. Head eventually fades to a full, creamy cap and clings to the sides of the glass. A wisp and ring remain leaving lots of lacing on the glass as it empties.
SMELL: Roasted noes, vanilla cream, oak, spicy aromas and some rum. Piney hop bitterness as well. Everything kind of clashes.
TASTE: Spicy aroma, booze, vanilla cream, some roasted notes and more booze at the swallow. Some piney hop bitterness too. Bold finish is boozy with some spicy rum, oak, vanilla, milk chocolate, and piney bitterness lingers on the palate. Again, the piney bitterness clashes with the spicy rum component.
PALATE: Medium-fuller body with lower levels of carbonation. Creamy and silky on the palate, goes down fine with a bit of a burn and finishes sticky on the palate. Some heat and bitterness lingers.
OVERALL: Lots of piney bitterness on this one, with a solid oak as well, which both kind of clash together. The look and big feel are great here, but it’s too hop forward for the booze character. Tone down the bitter hops and leave the rest as it is and it might work out better. Didn’t bother finishing this one.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of roasted malt with some dry bitter notes and light rum notes are also noticeable. Taste is a mix of dry bitter roasted malt notes with some black chocolate notes and some rum notes with light residual sugar notes are also noticeable. Body is somewhat full with good carbonation with some warming alcohol notes. God but dryer then I was expecting.
