Upstreet's Version of Rye'd On
L- Pours a dark amber colour topped by a massive tan head. Good retention. Lots of sticky lacing.
S- Slight Rye spiciness, caramel malt, floral hops, and a fruity yeast presence (similar to a Belgian Ale).
T- Same as the aroma. The Rye spiciness plays off the tongue nicely. Very malt oriented but a nice floral hops kicker.
F- Medium-Light Body and low-moderate carbonation.
O- When I saw that Picaroons and Upstreet did a collaboration brew, I had to pick up both beers to try them out. As a longtime Picaroons drinker, it hurts a little to say that Upstreet made the far superior brew. The various flavours meld so well together in this brew, without being over-aggressive on the rye malt (which I found Picaroons brew to be). I'm not a big fan of Rye Beers, so I don't think i'll be picking up this one again, but it was a solid experience. Give it a try while you still can!
