A healthy dose of German pilsner, Vienna, and Munich malts make up the grist of this decidedly malt forward, amber colored, strong lager. This cold-aged beer was brewed in honor of the most celebrated wookie in the annals of Star Wars lore. A deceptively easy drinking beer for such a strong offering.

On tap at the brewery.
A dark amber with a thin, beige head, this looks decent. The nose is plenty bready, with the Vienna and Munich malts very cleanly expressed, lending a complex sweetness consisting of bread, toast, a little bit of dark fruit to go with a light grainy note from the pils malt. A hair sweeter than I typically like, this beer opens medium in body and softly carbonated, with the emphasis being on the bready flavors. Quite nicely layered, the bread flavors are clean and quite deep, with a blend of lightly toasted white bread, whole wheat bread and a little bit of floral honey. A hair sweet on the finish, this beer is quite enjoyable.
