Full bodied traditional ale endorsed by CAMRA. Uses maris otter barley, and is hopped with fuggles and goldings. Not to be confused with "Tesco Golden Ale" which is not as strong at 4.0% and uses challenger and goldings and a different barley. Brewed by Marstons for Teco Stores Ltd.

Served cool from 500ml bottle into nonic pint glass.
L) Mid amber, not golden. Cloudy. Started out with a nice fluffy white head which faded to a thin bubbly head within a minute.
S) Rich fruity malt and a bit of alcohol.
T) Smooth caramel malt flavour, a bit of honey and a nice hop bite. Nicely balanced.
F) Nice smooth mouthfeel, carbonation is mild. No bitterness in the aftertaste. Very easy to drink.
O) Enjoyed this one, balanced, smooth easy drinking ale.

Bottled and bottle conditioned
an improvement on the range, at least the bottle isn't clear but still a way to go
Could not get head in this suggesting the yeast was underpowered very much like the aroma and flavour

Good hiss on opening.
Marmalade colour. Very little head.
Strong aroma of fuggles and goldings hops.
Sweet developing to a mild bitterness.
Insubstantial and rather watery.
A disappointing bottle conditioned ale.
