330ml can I brought back from London
crystal clear, yellow golden color, foamy white head that fades. floral, grassy, piney hop aroma. similar flavor, on the drier side, just a touch of crackery malt. thinner bodied.

L- Pale gold slightly hazy. Pours with 5mm white head.
S- I can smell grapefruit from 30cm away! Up close it's clear to me and I get hints of something more perfumed, perhaps orange and lychee.
T- It is very dry/hoppy on the front, but well short of being OTT. It then moves swiftly into an almost perfumed stage.
F- It is over on the dryer side of the scale and is refreshing.
O- This seems to be Marston's getting on the younger/hipster side of things. The perfumed aspects of the hopping suggest that to me. What is nice is this is done here with an eye to create a balanced result, it is far from a mono-dimesional blunt instrument. The perfumed aspect still doesn't appeal much to me, but for those for whom it does, who don't want the hopping OTT this might be one to look out for.
Before I opened this I'd looked at the design of the can and thought 'Hmmm, as an American IPA, this is likely to be a hop-hammer'. So I was surprised to then see here it is brewed by Martson's, there's no hint of who brews it on the can. As the can also notes this is brewed exclusively for Sainsbury's, and this one I bought from their mega-store at the top end of Ladbroke Grove in London W10 for £1.80. BB 03/5/19.
... at the bottom 1/3rd of the glass now, the head is lacing, and the my fresh palate of the night has adjusted quite quickly to the hop-level. As such it's improving as I work my way down. Ratings above, as usual, have been chosen after writing this review, so reflect my final evolved thoughts.
