Dark golden, pours with little head. Light and refreshing but lacks any real complexity. Fairly high carbonation, very mild to begin, develops into mild hops and a little fruit. Underwhelming though not unpleasant. Probably a decent alternative to a commercial lager.

A 500ml bottle with a BB of May 2013. Picked up some time back from Booths. Another of Marston's forays into a more modern style of beer, presumably spurred on by the success of smaller breweries. This one is hopped with Marynka, a Polish hop variety that claims to deliver spice and subtle fruity notes.
Poured into a tulip pint glass. A hazy golden-amber colour with good carbonation. Forms a decent head of frothy white foam that lasts for a minute or two before dissipating. Aroma of light caramel malt with hints of fruity ale yeast, grass/hay, mild honey, faint spice and stewed hops.
Tastes of caramel malt with a grassy character and a dry finish. Notes of grain, fruity yeast esters, earthiness, grass/hay, subtle honey, mild spice and stewed hops. Well attenuated, with a restrained bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth, dry and tingly, with pleasant carbonation and decent body. Somewhat astringent, with an aftertaste of harsh stewed leaves and hop bitterness.
An OK brew, though nothing amazing. Aroma and flavour are rather subtle and the hops seem grassy and subdued. Well balanced, but I was hoping for a more intense hoppy character. Body is pretty good. Better than some of their blander beers, but doesn't compare to the output of smaller, more passionate brewers. Worth trying, but no need to seek it out.

Golden blonde body, clear and fairly bright: on top a weak, thin covering of white bubbles which soon became thinner and less of a covering.
Supposed to have "a Herbal, Berry Fruit & Floral Aroma' according to the front label of my 500ml bottle: well the Polish Hop used (Marynka) may well produce those smells in buckets but I struggled to find such esters and I certainly tried. OK, it does have a mild floral sniff as it warms in the glass but otherwise pretty odourless really.
The taste is fairly bland to be honest: some hop bitterness and hints of citrusy sourness but very little to get your taste buds excited.
Body depth is fine for such a one dimensional brew but this isn't a beer I'd buy loads of. In fact it is now only 99 Pence a bottle in my local B&M Bargains Store and I haven't bought any.
