Bottled & purchased from budget supermarket B&Ms
Gold, thin shortlived white head and moderate condition. Gentle fruity malt and low earthy hops in the nose, gentle herbal hop bitterness in the mouth, quite full bodied and fruity, muted gentle hop bitterness in the finish.

A 500ml bottle with a BB of June 2013. Picked up a while back from Booths. As the name implies, a single-hop ale that uses Goldings.
Poured into a tulip pint glass. A golden-amber colour with faint haze and medium carbonation. Forms a large head of white foam that lasts for a few minutes before settling as a thin surface layer. Some lacing. Aroma of caramel malt with hints of fruity ale yeast, honey, grass/hay, subtle spice and mild earthiness. A whiff of cardboard in the background. Slightly sweet and nicely rounded.
Tastes of light caramel malt with a dry finish. Notes of grass/hay, mild honey, fruity ale yeast, stewed leaves, subtle spiciness and faint earthiness. Slightly sweet, with a hint of acrid cardboard. A mild, dry bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with pleasant carbonation and decent body. Somewhat astringent, with an aftertaste of harsh stewed leaves, grass and fruity yeast.
A decent pale ale, if not outstanding (though above par for Marston). Looks alright, and the aroma/flavour are well-balanced. Doesn't come across as overly hoppy, but Goldings is a relatively subtle variety. The honey notes are nice. Body is OK. Probably won't win medals but drinkable enough. Worth trying if you come across it.

Please note this is a different beer to the cask 'East Kent Goldings' by the same brewery.
500ml bottle BBD of 30 Jun 2013: poured into an Abbot Ale glass tankard at home on 25 May 2013.
Really enjoyed this, my second bottle of 'Goldings'.
Pours a golden blonde colour with a slight haze: on top a good white head with retension.
The aroma follows the label to the letter: there is a spicy, honey and caramel smell from the beer, the taste also has those three attributes with the beer being sweeter than most UK Bitters in both aspects (I have a fairly sweet tooth, so this is too my liking).
Good body depth and feel to the brew: all in all a fine beer and the best in the 'Single Hop' series for me so far.
