A decent and fun brew-house down the road from me, I visit on occasion and also pick up bottles occasionally. The brewery itself doesn't serve food (food trucks are usually parked out front), and is located in a large custom barn structure where the brewing equipment is right there near several low and high-top tables in a large open space. There is also a bar and a seating area outside when the weather gets nice. The beer selection is decent, from light to dark and several barrel-aged options that are good quality. A fun place with a unique vibe, and pretty well priced.

this is an awesome spot, one of the more unique taproom vibes around the greater boise area that i have checked out so far. its like a new barn or something, a huge wooden vaulted ceiling structure that feels rustic for being right off the boulevard there, and there is a cool rural feel in here, kind of took me to a different place, and i like when a brewery can do that. the bar is right in front, like a ski lodge aesthetic to it, then a sprawling seating area with the brewery in the back, looks like a killer patio space out back too, but it poured rain when we visited. they had kids and dogs all over the place, a quality food truck out front, and a nice selection of their beers, including some cool barrel aged ones in bottles to go. i really liked the pale ale and the hot haus pepper beer, but they also had some cool ambitious stuff, including a pickle beer, a girl scout cookie inspired stout, and a blonde stout as well, some real interesting stuff happening. i was amazed how affordable everything was, i love having a few beers at a place and not breaking the bank, so thats rad, and the service was excellent, lots of samples and very accommodating. the beer was better than i have heard from locals that it would be, to my surprise and delight, and the atmosphere is first rate. if you havent been here yet, or if its been awhile, definitely get in and check it out, i was stoked on it, and we will be back here for certain!

Powderhaus is a cool lodge-themed brewery at the edge of Boise. The place looks brand-new and is very welcoming; service is OK, but the guy seemed happier talking to the regulars. They had 10 beers on tap, plus cider and wine, which I like to see. The beer itself is not bad; I think it reflects the relative newness of the place. Could be worth a trip if you're in the area.

Opening night, and a few kinks in the hose, so to speak. Overcrowded, bar staff had tough time accommodating the crowd, and engaged in conversation with patrons, despite the long lines and wait time. Only four taps available, some room for growth here. Nice hunting lodge feel to the place, knotty pine and such, some German influence.. Will re-rate again after they’ve settled down
