I found this to be a poor example of an imperial porter. It felt thin and watery. It smelled tasted mildly of milk chocolate. No real effect of the bourbon barrels. It looked fine but not imperial. Disappointing. Maybe I got a bad can?

2022 Vintage
Appearance - The beer was slick black with tiny mocha bubbles topping the glass.
Smell - The nose was chocolatey and a bit tart.
Taste - The profile started with chocolate and the sour tart cherries. Something was off here. The sourness of whiskey barrels should not go this far. The finish is flat and sour.
Mouthfeel - The carbonation was low, befitting the aging process.
Overall - This one was hard to finish. At least the beer has a cool name.

Purchased from Vino & Vinyl in Sugar Land, Texas.
Appearance: Dark beer with brown head. Head dissipates quickly; thin lacing.
Smell: Not detecting anything strong when I smell.
Taste: Roasted malt; burned taste; pleasant booziness; detect bourbon, vanilla, earthiness
Mouthfeel: Creamy mouthfeel; syrup like; carbonation a little below average
Overall: ABV of 11%. Decent beer that gets you feeling nice rather quickly. The best aspect is the mouthfeel.

Canned 11/2/20. Drinking 4/2/21
pour is black with a finger of deep khaki head that fades a to a little cap on the glass.
nose is a huge wave of bourbon, oaky vanilla, roasted malts, toffee
taste follows. bourbon upfront followed by chocolate, fudge, marshmallow, vanilla. coconut. subtle oak tannins.
mouthfeel is medium thick, with low/moderate carbonation.
great beer. would buy again.
