my first beer from these guys, a light and well made marzen lager, perfect for this time of year where the days are still kind of warm and the evenings get cold. its light enough to be almost refreshing, dry too, and easy drinking when its warmer out. at the same time, the malt flavor is classic and screams fall, its crisp but it also has a little linger, and the yeast character gives it a cooler weather vibe, the best of both worlds, at once light and hearty, which i think is an awesome feature for a beer like this, nobody ever drank one octoberfest right? a light amber color and not quite clear, with a nice white froth head on it and a hint of european malt sweetness, but the flavor isnt sugary at all, instead more of a pils type crackery complexion, a light toasted even nutty character, and the yeast, which is german through and through and patiently done here. good carbonation, which for me is critical in this style, and an expansive sort of feel to it before its gone. overall a really traditional and professionally done example of this seasonal staple.

Poured from a crowler into a pint glass. Pours deep red orange with a small off white head. Smells of sweet grain, slight fruitiness and berries. Tastes of caramelized grain with very slight fruit notes and nuttiness. Beer is light bodied, nicely carbonated, and easy drinking. Overall, an above average beer.
