9.5% Bomber poured into a snifter
Look: pours oil slick black with a thin 1 finger mocha color head with slight lacing.
Smell: I get everything I search for; oak, vanilla, some heavy roasted malts, some dark chocolate
Taste: forward with that great oaky whiskey flavor, followed by some great vanilla and dates sweetness before finishing slightly bitter similar to a heavy dark chocolate.
Feel: everything I look for in a bourbon aged stout. Coats the tongue perfectly, not thick as syrup but not too thin leaving me wanting more. Perfect balance.
Overall: brilliant. VERY pleased with this beer from a new brewery in my repitore. I get giddy when I find unknown beers that are as solid as this guy. If you like oaky smoky slightly sweet stouts this is a must have!
