500 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet Jørpeland. ABV is 5.5%. Hop is Hallertauer Tradition. Hazy orange to brown colour, small off-white head. Strong aroma of ripe and over-ripe bananas, also hints of cloves, brown bread and caramel. The flavour is first citrussy, followed by cloves and banana, some caramel, very moderate hops. A very nice and drinkable hefeweizen.

Sampled from bottle at Mahr's Bräu in Bamberg, Germany.

This hefeweizen poured a cloudy, peach-orange color with creamy, slightly off-white foam that persisted. The smell was tart and citrusy with a hint of banana fruitiness. The taste was light banana ester, lemon citrus, some yeast, and very, very light clove phenols. The flavor was nicely balanced. The mouthfeel was smooth with medium body and good carbonation. The malt and citrus flavors lingered pleasantly. This was a nice beer, and is a "bigger" version of their regular hefeweizen.

Clear copper color at first with a full pillowy tan head. Pretty dark bronze-ish color after the sediment and swirl. Mixed malty, nutty, citrusy, light banana-clove yeast aromas; subtle yet complex. Very dunkel-weizen like in character without too much spice or chocolate. Nice light yeastiness of banana and clove. Medium-light bodied with light creaminess.

Very nice ! I'd put this in the Dunkel-weizen category if it were up to me.

Had this on tap at Max's tonight. A very good German hefeweizen, but certainly not among the top echelon. The beer was listed on the beer list at Max's as their fest weisse, so I assume this is what I was drinking.

The beer pours the archtypical German hefeweizen coloer; cloudy orange/tan color. The beer has an exceptional pillowy foam head, with very good retention and lacing. On the nose one gets a hint of clove, lemon and spice. Impressive, but not as intense as some German wheat beers I've had. On the palate the beer is quite complex; clove, lemon, sweet orange, and more spice. The beer has a silky, almost chalky (not in a bad way) mouthfeel to it. The beer has plenty of flavor and is quite drinkable. Very refreshing.

A very good beer, but I still prefer the Schneider-weisse and the Weihenstepher (my apologies for the spelling). I'll corrct it next time I grab a bottle.

Selection of the Beer-of-the Month Club.
Poured a cloudy light apricot color with massive chunky white head.
Smell is nortable for strong banana and clove essences, but also has some cotton candy textures present.
Taste is excellent. It semms to be a combination of a hefe weizen and a belgian ale. Very nice.
Nice and full in the mouth with a refreshing finish.
Excellent beer. Great drinkability.

Thanks Ilene...

Quite distinct from the run-of-the-mill hefe. Has some characteristics of the older brother we call "dunkel." Pours a quite dark (for the style) orange/amber with a huge head. Lacing is good. Smells of banana and orange peel. Taste is similar with one interesting kink - this bad boy has some hops! Not much, mind you, but enough to make me double take given the style. Fairly full-bodied and malty, which rounded the character out quite nicely.

A very interesting brew and one i was happy to have a 6-pack of.

A - Orange color, very hazy, nice white head that sticks around.

S - Yeasty, citrus.

T - Again citrusy, yeasty, with a hint of clove and bananas. Barest kiss of hops.

M - Light body, extremely clean, very little aftertaste.

D - If this were available locally, it would be my go-to hefe.

Appearance: Very cloudy, light amber/orange with a nice white head that is eager to show and determined to stay - a solid 1/4" remained for the entire glass, good lacing

Aroma: Nice citrusy smell - oranges and lemons

Taste: Very nice for the style, balance of sweet and bitter with little aftertaste, more citrus and yeast

Mouthfeel: Nice smooth, medium feel

Overall: A very decent, drinkable beer. I thought it was well done for the style. Not as crisp, carbonated and thin as other Hefeweiss beers

can’t give this beer a strong score for any single aspect, but the beer pulls together in the end. Strong carbonation and a bready, yeasty aroma stand up from the glass. A little thin in the body but plenty of fresh fruity flavors. I would like to try this beer again a little warmer than the about 40 degrees I tried it at to see if the aromas wake up more.
