De Mikkeller webshop. En copa hefe de Bavaria. Con papas fritas Moyano. Jugando a Eventide 3. Dunkel más corpulenta de lo habitual, con cierto toque a galleta y excelente sensación en boca, llenándote la a la vez incitandote a darle el siguiente trago

Many thanks to Snowcrash000 for this bottle.

A - Deep chestnut brown color with nice clarity and creamy, frothy off white lacing and foam.

S - Nutty, plumbs, and dark fruit.

T - Plumbs and dark fruit from start to finish with a subtle toasted malt base and ends balanced.

M - Robust body, silky viscous texture, and a wet finish.

O - This beer is much more deserving than it's current 3.73 overall score.

500 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5.0%. Beautiful deep reddish brown colour, moderate off-white head. Aroma of malts with some caramel and notes of bakery, fair enough. The malty flavour has some sweetness, but not too much, still with distinct notes of caramel. Moderate hops, as expected from a dunkel. A pleasant dunkel to drink.

Pours a clear hazelnut brown color, with a decent, fluffy white head, which holds up for ages.

Offers a distinct, rich, whole grain bread foundation, with a potato peel sweet hint to it. A whiff of copper and wood bark, together with heated hazelnut add a nice depth to the robust malt profile of the beer.

Has a lively carbonation, while the beer remains pleasantly drinkable throughout, with a malty refreshment to it. Drinks utmost smooth, with a coppery malt finish, while not giving up on its softness.

Begins with whole grain bread, which later on gets a toasty note to it, wrapped up by a soft minerality and dry earth. While maintaining its profound bread profile, malts add a toffee hint, gently balanced by wood bark and earth. Finishes with dextrose amped up malts and a coppery quality, while earth holds the overall sweetness pleasantly low.

I appreciate the beers focussed malt character quite a bit, maintaining its rustic earth and bread character till the end, while allowing subtle changes on the palate at the same time, adding necessary depth. This results in an easy drinking Lager with enough body to it to convince my palate.

50cl bottle poured into Spaten seidel

BBE 25 March 2013

A- Mahongany body with excellent clarity. 3 finger creamy tan head produces good lacing and retention, leaving a solid crown.

S- A little toasted malt and yeasty tang as noted by previous reviewers.

T- A little metallic munich toasted malts with that yeastiness coming through. A litle doughy with a touch of hop bite in the lager clean finish. Overall flavour profile is there but a bit weak.

M- Thin mouthfeel with a moderate carbonation.

D- Forgettable stuff really. Flavour/aromas are there but just too faint.

Poured from a bottle into a straight pint glass.

Pours a dark brown/amber colour, and i had to coax a short lived head out of it. Decent carbonation though.

Smells nice and malty though, quite dark with a hint of yeast.

Tastes quite refreshing, like a helles lager but slightly darker, though not as heavy with the darkness as you'd expect from the colour. Quite malty and smooth with a tang of yeast and a slight hop bitterness on the swallow.

Overall this is a quite a nice beer, let down by being slightly too thin but then again it is a lager not a stout at the end of the day. Nonetheless a very enjoyable drink.

Dark colour, reddish around the edges, medium to large tanned head, see through clear. Cola aroma with notes of fruit. Tasted malts and caramel, roasted malty finish. Low carbonation, smooth, body was crisp for a dunkel, was impressed by the texture as some can go sticky and oily. Not really a dunkel fan, wasn't obvious what it was from the label, but it was one of the better ones I've sampled.

Served on-draught at Mahrs Brau in Bamberg, Franconia, Germany. Reviewed from notes.

A: Pours a 1.5 finger head of below average retention, nice cream, and good thickness. Colour is a nontransparent dark ruby.

Sm: Nutty hops. Maybe some toffee. No roast or cream. Clean barley. A mild strength aroma.

T: The amber hop finish feels very out of place. Some nutty hops in the body mix with cream. No toffee is present; perhaps I was wrong before. It tries to be complex but fails. Poor balance. Not at all well built for the style. A disappointment. Some caramel is present.

Mf: Awkwardly dry, especially on the finish. Smooth and unrefreshing. Doesn't mesh with the flavours.

Dr: Affordable but not good. Not worth seeking out by any means. You could down it repeatedly but you wouldn't want to.

The beer pours a brownish amber color with good head retention and lacing. The is very nice, showcasing light brown sugar, baked apple and light cherry. The flavor profile is very bit as good in this lightly sweet and malty beer, but with a hint of burnt toast in the finish. As a result, the beer finishes fairly dry, which really enhances this beer's drinkability. Mouthfeel is fairly light, with a fairly long, lightly sweet and burnt toast finish.

If drinkability was still a category I'd give this beer a 5 there. This is such an easy going, easy to approach beer. Delish...

Here is one of the local beers I had yet to try and thanks to my wife for buying it for me. Wish that happened more often.

Pours a very dark brown but still crystal clear. Half inch of head dissipated pretty quick. My fault, my glass was not completely dry. But, good lacing all the way down.

Smelled of caramel malts.

If you like malty beers, this is one for you. And I do. Well I like hoppy beers too because I like beer!

Almost no hop presence at all. Wish there was. However, there is a slight tangy, sourness that keeps the malty sweetness in check. Actually reminds me of some fresh baked bread. Can you spread butter on a beer?

Perfect mouthfeel. The Germans know what they are doing when it comes to the technicality of brewing great beer.

Overall, I thought it was great. It is a perfect malty beer that I could drink a ton of.

500 ml bottle from Berlin, the beer is brewed for the 200th anniversary of poet Ernst Theodor Amadeus.

Pours dark brown with tons of small and light tan lacing that fades to patchy layer at the top of the glass. Aroma is very light roasted bready, sweetish caramel.

Taste is sweetish malt with mild bittery tones, hints of caramel caramel with nutty, medium-dry and slightly astringent finish. Mouthfeel is light, less than average carbonation with very light warming sensation.

Overall, a good one. Light and refreshing.
