aside from the coffee double brown, this was my favorite beer here at little machine. its really really good. a currant wild beer, its bretty and funky, and one of the only beer made with currants where i taste the fruit distinctly, instead of a generic red berry flavor, this is true to the real thing, and i dig that really hard. hazy somewhere between dark pink and light purple, almost milky from all the yeast in it, and holding a full inch of white head. bursting with musty funk and sweet currants, the nose is really great, and it all comes though in the flavor. maybe a small belgian yeast pitch too? it has that gummy ester to it, and its really nice with the wet grassy bretty funk. there is some acidity too, maybe a little lacto at one stage or another. just sweet enough on the fruit for them to be authentic but not sugary, carbonated brightly, and at a nice low abv. this is a great session type wild ale, and a wonderful use of a fruit that doesnt get enough love in beer these days. amazing this has come from a brewery so new. i would love to see them put it in a white wine barrel...
