I love Marzens, so I had to try this one since I was at the brewery in the appropriate season. I like mine a bit maltier in general, but this one was pretty tasty. Nice color, low alcohol, no bitter aftertaste even though it's a bit hoppier than I tend to prefer. Solid beer here.

if this beer wasnt flat from the tap, it would be a great local take on this style. the malt flavor in thie light amber brew is delicious, sweet and nutty, perfectly autumnal, with some gravity to it and a nice round feel. hints of caramel, almond, classic german yeast, realy pretty authentic and solid recipe. the probel here is that the beer goes all the way up to the top of the pint glass, no head at all, and hardly more than a lazy prickle of carbonation on the tongue, i prefer a whole lot more life, especially in a lager like this. its a shame it feels like this, because it misses an opportunity to be one of the best marzen lagers in the city. great flavor, a little more body than many, smooth and just sweet enough, still crisp. nice in the morning, nice on a hangover, but some better carbonation away from being as good as it could be. i have liked little machine a lot in their early going so far, i think their beers are thoughful and well executed. hopefully future batches of this address this seemingly simple issue to fix, and we will have a real winner here!
