Bottled and bottle conditioned and a Belgium Blonde hopped with Sorachi
Pours a fairly clear golden body with decent enough white head
Aroma is full of that Belgium candy and hints of juicy fruit
Spritely bitting malt with yeasty spikes and soapy sweetness

From a 500ml bottle.
L: Opaque, pale orange with a thin, off-white head. A few streams of bubbles. Has the colour of a Belgian blond ale but not the typical large, foamy head.
S: Faintly citrus and herbal (the sorachi ace hops?) plus a tang, like a restrained saison. Not much, if any, yeast character.
T: Ok. Now that was not what I was expecting. Taste follows the nose, still not much yeast character, but there's something else. This brewery loves to smoke its beers. Is there some smoked grain in here? Or is it coconut from the hops? Hmm. A bit weird and a bit off-putting. Aftertaste is sour and cakes the tongue.
F: Light body with, for a Belgian blond, low carbonation. Dry-ish.
O: Very confused and confusing beer. I think the base recipe is probably just not good enough so the 'cheeky tweak' of adding Sorachi Ace hops falls flat.
