1/3 cask pour at GBBF Winter. Creamy dark brown pour, ring of beige head. Boozy aroma hits first, bourbon with sweet roasty malts and notes of chocolate. Taste gets really roasty, light smoky flavors, woody, chocolate. Nice big syrupy stout.

L- Jet black, bried tan cap of bubbles that soon clears.
S- Slightly smokey and a charred note.
T- Boof! Very deep puungent roasting from the off. There is a clear hoppy dry aspect so they've loaded up the hops too. Remarkably given the mega deep roast aspect, the hops do achieve balance.
F- Super-pungent. I don't get the ABV% showing itself. Otherwise this is approaching the impact of the world-class mega (12-15%) Icelandic stouts. CO2 has been somewhat lacking from the beginning.
O- Very nice indeed. At 9%+ and that it's not shouty is class brewing. Would have liked more CO2 but that is not always straightforward in a beer of this ABV.
Bought from Trembling Madness, York. 330ml bottle £4.25. Ingredients incl barley + rye. Bottles 11/22 BB 12/26
