Presentation: 22 fl.oz Bomber, with a generic dark red label that has the words Bagel Beer wrapped top and bottom around the picture of a plain Bagel. Allegedly the beer is actually made with a number of Bagels being added to the brew. So there is a little bagel in every beer, as the blurb proudly states.
Appearance: Pours a very golden color with some amber hints, that has a solid Pilsner (one e) look about it. High inherent carbonation aids the creation of a massive rocky and uneven large white head that has the look of a relief map of a Glacier when first poured. Heavy lacing at times, but the head soon rests to a solid ¼ covering. Looks pretty good actually.
Smell: Hmmm, after the great appearance - what happened? I keep sniffing but cannot find anything. You will need one of those detachable Michael Jackson noses that you can drop in the beer to find any odor on this offering. Very light, incredibly restrained and almost non-descript!
Taste: It really is hard to find any quite the strangest of experiences. Some malt, feint hops, and a light sweetness. Even bad beers have flavors that are discernable. Very thin, no dominant factors, and not at all memorable .Erm, what was I saying ..???
Mouthfeel: High carbonation thankfully aids the mouth-feel, it bloody well needs it because the low strength flavors contribute nothing to the mouthfeel.
Drinkability: Its really hard to mark this, water is drinkable when its warm outside, but it has little flavor. Whilst this beer is crisp and clean, and has excellent thirst quenching qualities also, it has little flavor, or any other redeeming features to add to its return factor. Ill go with a 3.0 for this, but thats kind of flattering I think.
Overall: The fifth of the Bagel Beers that I have had to date, and sadly the least (most?) memorable of them. Very clean, so much so it is a non-descript beer that has little redeeming features, apart from that the fact that it has none.
Plain Pilsner - is a rather ironic name for this beer.

Medium gold color, medium head. Medium bodied, pilsner-style ale, made with bagels. Mild malts and hops. Mild flavor. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. An all right beer, despite the gimmick of "A little bagel in every beer".
