In Norse mythology, Ask and Embla were the names of the first two humans created by the gods. These collabs with our Swedish friends at Brekeriet are loaded with complexity and nuance.
Ask is our unfruited version, which was aged 22 months in a Sangiovese wine puncheon. This golden wild ale with rye was fermented with a blend of Odd Breed and Brekeriet’s mixed cultures. Notes of fresh lemon zest, subtle stone fruit, and overripe pineapple. The finish is moderately tannic with delicate notes of Sangiovese and Brett funk with moderate acidity.

750 mL bottle. Clear golden. Smells of sharp yogurty acidity, some fruity wine notes, and oak. Tastes a little more dynamic. Lots of oak, sweet stone fruit, hefty wine barrel, cereal. I don't get a very specific rye flavor. Medium body. It's a touch too sour and not quite dynamic enough to justify it's acidity.
